What we use

Over 65 businesses and organisations provide us with perfectly good food that would otherwise be wasted, ending up in landfill or being converted into pet food.

We are happy to receive all sorts of food. This includes meat that has been ground too fine by a butcher; cheese; fruit and vegies that don’t look perfect but are perfectly edible; even packaged items such as fruit juices, breakfast cereals, yoghurts, jams and biscuits. This includes food that is close to its ‘best before’ date, but it must be safe to consume. We do not accept food past its ‘use by’ date.

We always need more:

  • Pastry
  • Fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Meat
  • Cheese
  • Eggs
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Large Freezer Bags 45x30cm

While we’re particularly keen to receive staples, go on, surprise us! In the past we’ve received prawns, blue cheese, kangaroo, and peking duck and put them all to good use.
